WINTER WATER NOTIFICATION

Winter is coming, so be prepared!!!

We would like to pass on some beneficial tips to you. Be sure to know where your personal water meter shut off is and where your water meter is. Also mark where your water meter is in case it snows (if you need a flag to mark your meter with, we have some available at the main desk in the Water Department Office). Also, be sure to have a meter shut off tool ready just in case you have a water line burst. Extra safety tips: wrap all water lines, unhook your water hoses from the hydrants and wrap the hydrants. Be sure to close all of the vents on your foundation and to under pin any open areas on your home. This will help keep the wind off your water lines. Open the cabinet doors under the sinks and allow the interior faucets to drip. We hope you find these tips helpful because a busted water line will not only cause you to have a high-water bill, but it could also cause a lot of damage to your home.
